As a person with a so-called non-traditional background, I like to think that I have a unique experience that many others may not share. I use my experience and tendency for critical, contrarian thinking to share unique insights on various subjects including software engineering. Occassionally, I post photographs I captured which I find interesting.
I grew up in a small town in Frederick County, Maryland. By middle school, I had grown sick of studies. I slept through my classes, won the 9th grade slackers competition with a 0.0 GPA, and dropped out after being held back. I rehabilitated my academics and work ethic at community college, earning an AA in film. After transferring to Boston University, I studied Statistics & Computer Science. I am now a software engineer at MathWorks in Natick, Massachusetts.
Since beginning university studies, I have become acutely interested in self-improvement and the science of what makes successful people successful. Outside of computer science, subjects of interest to me are behavioral economics, entrepreneurialism, business, public policy, exercise, nutrition, and longevity. I also generally enjoy films, photography, and philosophy.
